Spandana Charitable Trust has been established in Jan 2010 with the sole intention to provide quality eye care to the economically backward, underprivileged and unaffordable section of the society.

The motto of SPANDANA is “Sight for all to lead the right life”. It is a community service wing of Sunayana Eye hospital.

The trust was inaugurated by his holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Guruji Founder, Art of Living.

• Organizing eye-screening camps for school children of slums and rural areas. This enables us to detect eye problems like refractive errors, squint at an early age to prevent complication at later date. Comprehensive eye checkup is advisable for all children before they join the school.
• Organizing screening camps regularly for people above 40 years through mobile units especially in rural and suburbs. India is one of the countries having a large number of people suffering from preventable blindness. Eye screening camps will help in bringing down this number considerably.
• Conducting free eye-surgery camps at the base hospital. To ensure a sterile and hygienic atmosphere, all camp surgery cases will be transported to the base hospital. They will stay there for 3 days for pre-operative investigations, surgery & post-operative care.
• Conducting awareness programme on eye-care for the benefit of various age groups and various section of the society through Audio Visual Aid.
